bbc.co.uk: BBC World Cup Review

If the idea of a £25 per head minimum spend is within your range, Fitzrovia's Jetlag bar has this summer's luxury ticket option: a screening lounge with leather sofas, crocodile chaise longue, HD projector and full surround sound.

It's a bit of a gourmet paradise too: a global food menu means you can tailor what you eat and drink to whichever match is being played out in front of you.

Choose Bunny Chow from South Africa, Coxinhas from Brazil and Calamari from Spain along with beers including Asahi from Japan and New Zealand's Steinlager Pure.

Their season kicks off with opening fixture South Africa v Mexico.

David

Was looking for something to do on Australia Day (26th January) just that bit special and came upon Jetlag Bar showing a movie marathon of 3 cult Aussie films - Puberty Blues, Priscilla and Muriel's Wedding.  Made to feel welcome by Scott and the gang, and as the venue filled up towards the evening, Scott working in the lounge downstairs continued to look after us individually - excellent service!  Sensational menu covering both cocktails and food, will be back soon to work our way through the menu!

MACS MAG: MACS London Magazine

Tucked away along the less favorable end of Cleveland Street W1 is Jet Lag bar, but far from it’s location working against it, it provides a welcome relief from the over priced cocktail chains just a stones throw away.

Run by friendly Irishman Thomas they have an ethos of providing no-frills rustic  cocktails for those of us who are fed up with the pretentiousness of London cocktail bars. There are several innovations to traditional cocktails created by Thomas which are incredibly well realised (and delicious).  On our arrival I notice it is populated with a discernibly trendy crowd, the media folk clever enough to look a little further a field then the narrow streets of Soho for their after work tipple.

Recommended for those who like to venture outside of their comfort zone to find something a little different.

Angelina: Cocktail Class

Quick message to say thanks for a fun cocktail making night last night. Thanks to Thomas for teaching us the skills and thanks to Scott for organising for us.

We all had a great time and we'll definitely be back.

Will recommend to my mates as well.

Thanks!

Fluffy: I love this place

I love this place! Downstairs there is a relaxed and comfy lounge atmosphere, with large leather sofas and a huge HD projector screen to watch a variety of sports. It's definitely the most sophisticated place to watch sport. Their cocktails follow a round the world theme and their international street food menu is tasty and original. If you're forced to watch sport with boys, at least you can have a superb cocktail to soften the blow.

London Town: London Town World Cup Review

Fitzrovia's new and rather cool Jetlag bar has the perfect downstairs space for World Cup viewing: a cinema lounge with a massive screen, high definition projector and surround sound speaker system. What's more, Jetlag prides itself as a well-travelled international beer and cocktail bar with a global food menu that means you can tailor what you eat and drink to what game is being played out in front of you in this stylish venue. International street food on offer includes Spanish calamari tapas, Greek souvlaki, Japanese yakitori and gyoza, Brazilian coxinhas, Algerian houmous and pitta, South African bunny chow and Mexican burritos - plus a whole load of delectable delights from nations not in the World Cup. Beers are well represented too, including Asahi from Japan, ESB from England, Estrella from Spain, Samiel Adams from the USA, Oranjeboom from the Netherlands, James Boag from Australia and Steinlager Pure from New Zealand. And don't get us started about the wines or the special around-the-world cocktail package (six for £25). In fact, the only two nations they seem to have missed out on their World Cup food and drink programme are Uruguay and Slovenia. Yup, here at LondonTown we can see Jetlag becoming a real popular destination this June and July.

Safety: Sensational

A bar that could be straight out of scene from "Lost in Translation", (groovy lighting, low tables and fishtanks) with an intriguing menu and top class friendly service.

But the big attraction is the giant screen downstairs. This could be, (along with maybe The Roxy in Southwark), THE place to watch the match for the sophisticaed armchair connoisseur. It's more luxurious than a corporate box and the beer is better. The view is better too.

Duane : Jetlag Review

Went to Jetlag for the first time in September having seen details of it online and WOW its a great place. London really suffers from a shortage of decent sports bars but JetLag bucks the trend. Great selection of food and drinks, friendly and attentive staff make it a joy to behold. The downstairs sports area has a 100% wow factor and is the best screen I have ever seen. All this together means Jetlag is a top top venue and bound to be a big success. I look forward  to returning. Starting with Chelsea vs Man u on SundayGood luck Duane

Guest: Watch out for the cocktails!

The cocktails are fantastic, but too easy to drink! Be careful of what you order!
